Mission
Serving as a Membership Council and the sponsoring agent of a non-profit organization bearing the name Alamo Area Home Care Council in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas; and to assist the organization in carrying out the following purposes:
- To promote and elicit public interest in and knowledge of home care
- To provide a means for discussion of subjects related to home care
- To provide a means for the exchange of ideas and information to include the provision of continuing education programs
- To advocate for and educate members of our community to benefit home care recipients, and
- To make home care an effective, significant part of the health care system in the Alamo Area community
Purpose
The Alamo Area Home Care Council is an organization composed of the various disciplines in home care which include the following: home health agencies, hospice organizations, home medical equipment companies, home infusion pharmacies, assisted living, residential, long term care facilities, and other related services. In todays environment, all disciplines must work together to provide the best possible service for the patients. It is the desire of the Council and its members to stay abreast of the ever-changing status of home care''s rules and regulations. In addition, the goal of the Council is to serve as a resource to other organizations that work closely with the home care community.
Meetings
The Alamo Area Home Care Council meets on a monthly basis, on the second Wednesday of each month, at Dave and Busters (I-H 10 and Loop 410). Our meetings focus on a variety of topics that affect home care and services rendered to patients in San Antonio, Bexar County, and surrounding counties of South Central Texas.
